Yes, adoptions are still open between the US and Guatemala. There are agencies still processing new applicants.
Hi to Ella's mom. I am brand new to this site. My response is actually about the dry skin. Our Guatemalan angel just turned 10 yrs. old last week. She has always had chronic dry skin since birth. (We received her at 5 months of age) I did not realize that Guatemalan children in general are prone to dry skin. Our daughter does have an area of dry skin/small dots on her upper arms and I asked our pediatrician about this and she called it keratosis pilaris and said that exfoliating and such helps. The small dots almost look white like goose bumps.
I am so excited for you all to read some of your stories. I initially came on this forum tonight looking for info for a friend about Guatemalan adoptions. Does anyone know if adoptions are still in progess between the US & Guat? The agency we adopted our daughter from is supposedly on hold (CWA)...
