If you’re a casual reader or a visitor of this blog you may have noticed I love to review places and restaurants. I hope that over time as readers also visit these places, they will return here and share their experiences. We have even been privileged to have the the owner’s grandson chime in on the article about Sarita.
This weekend our family took a long needed break to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We spent just three days on Oak Island but they were treasured jewels that I am so happy we invested in. As much as I want to be a resource for you as you begin the process and as you go through the process. I want to be there with you as you progress in the months and years following your adoption.
This is what brought me to open the “Family Fun” section of the Guatemala Adoption Blog. I want to try and find some of the coolest places in the country for you and your families to visit. In doing so I will need your help. I’ll start off with some of the places that Kristina and I have found to give an idea of how these places will be reviewed and presented. Then as you find cool and fun places in your corner of the world, let me know (adoptguatemalablog@adoptionmail.com) so I can share with the rest.
These places will vary as much as each of our families do. From day trips to a zoo to a weekend at the beach, we’ll seek out unique can’t miss locations that are kid friendly for you and give you the info of how to get there, how much money you’ll need (if any), who to talk to, and what to expect when there.
OK so off we go! Let’s start right here where I am in North Carolina…stay tuned!

Have you ever been to VirtualTourist.com? That strikes me as a site you might like, and wish to contribute to.
Sweet! I think I may have run across that site once before but it definitely fell off of my radar. I have used Trip Advisor. I need as much info expecially when talking about the different hotels in an area. I can only stay in so many places.
Thanks for the heads up!
We are really lucky here in central NC. There’s the zoo, the Children’s Museum, Pullen Park, Jordan Lake (or whatever lake you all go to up there in Burlington), great hikes all over the place, not to mention Hanging Rock only an hour north, the beach – 3 hours, the mountains – 3 hours – all the festivals and fun days that happen (have to you been to the Shakori Hills festival? – it happens next weekend), etc. No wonder everyone and their mother is moving here.
This is very fun. Maybe you’ll tell me about some things to do I don’t know of yet!
