This is a private grant from individuals who have adopted themselves. They are very specific in their applicant instructions but I know there are a few North Carolinians who may come across this link and find it helpful.
Here is a little more about who the Grant administrators are according to the website.
Approximately 30 million children throughout the world are orphaned and abandoned, waiting for a loving, forever home. In 2001 we were made aware of this need and our hearts began to break. We believe Matthew 18:14 which says, “Your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” So we began to ask, “God, what do you want us to do?”
We were blessed with two small sons at the time, but it soon became clear that God was calling us to adoption. The call to adopt a child from Guatemala was clear but we were overwhelmed by the cost of the process. A typical (average) adoption can cost $10,000 – $35,000
Finally, after a year of praying and with very little money to work with, we stepped out on faith and began the process. God was faithful to provide everything that we needed. On June 27, 2003 our daughter, Caroline was born in Guatemala. On October 31, 2003 we received word that our adoption was final. Caroline came home to her “forever family” on December 1, 2003.Throughout the journey we began to realize that many more families would choose adoption if they had financial support, encouragement and prayer support. From that realization came the ministry, Caroline’s Promise.

James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress. ” What is God saying to you when you read this scripture? What is He calling you to do? Adopt? Volunteer? Give financially? God’s word is clear – you must do something!
