I came across this site as I was searching for funding sources. Ava’s hope serves married couples seeking to adopt internationally. Something else I found that I thought was really neat is some of the means that they use to raise funds. They auction off canvas paintings created by children who have been adopted internationally. I love that idea and I would love for Mia to create a piece that might actually go to help another child be united with his family.
There seems to be a real passion here to help those who are adopting. They recently had a concert with over 1000 in attendance and raised enough money to completely fund a few adoptions! This is a relatively new foundation as it was started in 2005. Executive director Rachel Henry and her husband founded Ava’s Hope after researching international adoption themselves. All of the officers of th foundation are volunteers so that nearly every penny that they raise goes to support adoptions.
Take a moment to visit the site and see if this organization could be a help to you! If you have already adopted, this might be a worthwhile organization to support for you. They have a newsletter that they send out to keep people up to date on the funds and events.
I know many of my readers are single parents adopting and I will continue looking for other sources of funds. Each foundation of course can create their own guidelines for how they distribute funds. There are some that limit the scope and some that do not. It will always be my intention to bring out every one I find!
Oh and one more thing. The site can tend to be a little slow so exercise some patience as it may be quite worth it!
